The Brompton School

Parent Involvement

I will support The Brompton School educational philosophy. I will play an active role in the education of my child. I will insure that my child arrives on time, attends school for a full school day, is well fed, rested and prepared for the day.

I will be an active participant in the extra activities of the school, will attend the monthly parent meetings and will actively participate in the fund raising activities of The Brompton Community Partnership.

I will attend Parent - Teacher conferences and will respond to all school communication.

I will be available, or will insure that a responsible adult is available, to take my child home from school in case of illness or as requested by the Director.

I will insure that my child completes all homework assignments. Assignments missed due to an absence must be completed.

I understand that Teachers will be available after school most days, that I am welcome to visit the school and that I must register in the office upon my arrival for all visits. I will make arrangements for my classroom visits with the classroom teacher. I understand that teachers are not available before the start of the school day.

I will support the Teachers and Director of The Brompton School. Concerns will be addressed first to the teacher. If a solution is not met, the Director will be contacted. The Director will have the final say. If necessary, the Director will meet with The Brompton School Advisory Committee to solve a difficult issue.

I will insure that my child wears The Brompton School uniform. It will be well fitting, clean and in good repair. I understand that exemptions to the uniform policy will not be granted except in the cases of health and safety.

I will provide transportation to and from school for my child. The Brompton School and KUSD will not provide transportation.

Student Performance

Planned absences during days school is in session will be considered unexcused. I will accept responsibility for instruction my child misses due to an unexcused absence. Work will not be given in anticipation of an absence. My child will complete all missed assignments due to an unexcused absence outside of school hours in a time equal to the absence. Missed tests will be taken at the time missed assignments are due.

My child’s behavior will not interfere with the learning and safety of others. My child will complete all assignments on time and will participate in all classroom activities including field trips. I understand that my child must complete grade level work as a condition for promotion.

I understand that failure to fulfill the terms of this contract may result in dismissal from The Brompton School.
